Aussie Open

The first Grand Slam of the year, the Australian Open is almost over. Sharapova went one step further than last year when she lost to Serena Williams in humiliating fashion. This time the Russian beauty took the title in straight sets, beating another gorgeous 20 yr old Ana Ivanovic from Serbia.

Sharapova had been the heavy favourite heading into the match after taking out world no.1 justine henin in convincing fashion in the quarters. she went on to blitz Jankovic for a place in the final. i'm so glad to see Sharapova back to her top form. tennis tournaments without her is boring.

anyways, the next grand slam coming up is the French Open. this time i hope another of my fav player Henin can defend her crown.

don't have the pictures for the Aussie Open for now. maybe later i can put them up. there's one picture of Sharapova and Ivanovic posing together b4 the final match started. What a collection it would be if i could get my hands on it. 2 super beautiful gals together..phewww....

i lost my interest in the men's final bcoz both my favourite players on the men's tour had been knocked out. Federer was taken out by Djokovic and Nadal was eliminated by Tsonga. I hope Tsonga wins the final bcoz i don't really like Djokovic.

Djokovic is leading by a game in the third set with one sets apiece. things look bright in the beginning for Tsonga who took the first set but momentum switched to Djokovic from the 2nd set onwards as Djokovic broke early in the 2nd and 3rd sets.
